Worst Dentist Experience Ever
I have never come across a dentist so unhelpful, passive and reluctant. I went there for a slight toothache and all I got was two small x-rays then the next second I was kicked out. Apparently this place is so busy that you have to list out EVERY SINGLE THING you need the dentist to do when you make the appointment because if not, they won't do it. The experience is so bad I registered on this site to write a review.
First I tried to see if he could do a scaling, he said no because I booked in short notice (the day before) and so they could only give me short time, plus I didn't mention it during booking. Okay, understood. Then I asked if I got any cavities (I didn't even dream that he would actually fix anything but just hoped he would spend 1 minute to take a LOOK and tell me), and he said I probably had some, but he refused to take a look and confirm because ---- he had no time and (yes you guessed it) I was not booked for it. While there was like, 1 patient waiting at the reception. Just because I was booked on the cause of a "toothache", everything else was out of the question. I had to raise a few issues up myself, only to get general replies because he refused to check all of my teeth.
In fact, the toothache problem was not dealt with very well either. I was merely told the x-rays showed no obvious problems and he never really explained why I was having the ache. And from his repeatedly stressing of no time for me, I didn't think he would even do anything even if my teeth were falling out at that point....
Confused and frustrated, I asked the nurse and she said all their patients knew EXACTLY the procedures they required and stated clearly so when making the appointments. Seriously. I'm not a dental professional, so to be honest I don't know how can I diagnose myself fully before I could book with them. Isn't getting professional advice and diagnosis the purpose of visiting a dental clinic? Why has it become the patient's responsibility to inform them all details and remedies we need?
Nurse said she didn't charge me any consultation to justify their bad service. Well I was totally happy to pay but it was the dentist who refused to do a simple check. I mean, how long could that take?! Even I was not booked for a proper time slot, would it really take him hours to just take a look??? I was especially displeased because I actually had to made arrangements to babysit my children (a family member even took half day off work) just to make this appointment but it proved to be a total waste of time. I don't know why she thought it okay to not charge fee and kick patients out. No, it's not okay, really. There is a word called "inconvenience", and they should know it because they brought that onto me that day. If you cannot give me enough time to take a simple look, I'd rather not come at all.
After this unsatisfactory visit, I ran into some random old lady outside the clinic and guess what? She shared with me some negative experiences with this Dr. Fung and his nurse as well! I wish I met her before I wasted my time on them.
To conclude, I really cannot recommend this clinic to anyone, since the dentist basically treats you like an idiot (when I said one of my molars hurt he stared at me and said "you know how to distinguish a molar?" ) and the nurse faces complaints by telling dissatisfied patients to "go to another clinic" (don't worry I sure will). The service is not really professional and their attitude horrible. I will definitely not return.
